Huelva Information
The province Huelva is situated in the most western part of Andalusia and has borders in the north with the Province Badajoz, in the east with Seville, in the southeast with Cádiz, in the south with the Atlantic Ocean and in the west with Portugal. Huelva has a southwards orientation and towards the inland the landscapes rises and becomes mountainous.
At present the closest airports to the Province are the airports Seville (113 kilometers from Huelva city) and the airport Faro (112 kilometers from Huelva city and 54 kilometers from the border to Portugal).
Huelva is one of the sunniest provinces with more than 300 annual sun days. The climate is mild, rarely temperatures drop below freezing point, with an annual average temperature of 16ºC (60.8ºF) in the mountains and 18ºC (64.4ºF) on the coast.
The province Huelva counts with a great number of historic and artistic Monuments, both religious (Christian temples, hermitages and old Mezquitas from Muslim days) and civic buildings that have originated from the different cultures that have lived there through the centuries.
The province possesses as well a great variety of protected natural spaces, of which are especially worth mentioning the National Park Doñana und the Nature Park Sierra de Aracena that are worthwhile a daytrip. The national Park Doñana is considered the mayor nature reservoir in Europe.
The beaches of the province Huelva hold a beauty of their own with white sand surrounded by green pine forests.
