La Viñuela belongs to Axarquia, province of Malaga: close to Velez Malaga, Benamargosa, Alcaucin, etc: with a typical landscape of the Axarquia: olive groves and vineyards. At present rural tourism is increasing due to the expansion of its infrastructure and Viñuela’s reservoir which has brought tourist interest to this attractive landscape.
Do not forget to visit: the Church of San Jose (s. XVI) and other buildings such as “Ermita de la Virgen de las Angustias”, an oil mill of the XIX century and tower of la Atalaya. In terms of gastronomy: tomate and vegetable soup, “gazpachuelo”, migas with orange (Sauteed breadcrumbs cooked), you will tasted in the area bars such as a good wine and oil.
