Above the city of Fuengirola on the mountain's slope, at a height of 400 meters above sea level we find Mijas, without a doubt one of the most characteristic and most visited towns on the Costa del Sol (map of Mijas).
Mijas is a small, charming village composed of hundreds of houses painted a bright white and with red tiled rooftops, and all of them have their walls and balconies full of local craftsmanship.
Its small size doesn't limit it in number of places to visit or activities to partake in, among which are the Mijas Bullring, the El Puerto hermitage and other buildings of great historical value. We can't forget about the famous Donkey Taxis ("Burro-Taxis"), something only found in Mijas.
