New terminal T3 at Malaga airport

The new terminal T3 at Malaga airport has been inaugurated by the Spanish Kings on March 15th 2010. This new terminal with a glass façade of 225 metres is very distinctive due to its luminous design and high ceilings which facilitate the entry of natural light. The terminal T3 is located next to the old T2 and directly connected with it. All EU flights arrive and depart now from the T3; whereas passengers of non EU destinations will have to check-in in the T2.

At the departure level on the first floor passengers find on nearly 20.000 m² two areas destined for check-in with a total of 86 counters. A centralized security control opens up to a large shopping square of more than 10.800 m² with some innovative offers in both shopping and restaurant area.  Completely new concepts at Malaga airport are for instance the first shop worldwide in an airport of National Geographic or an Haute Cuisine Restaurant. Furthermore, Travelers can enjoy now as well a Starbucks and excellent international brands, among many more proposals. In addition, Malaga airport boasts the second largest Duty-free shop in Europe.

On the ground floor is situated the arrivals area with the baggage reclaim hall. Leaving the airport, the traveler finds a large centralized Atrium with all available means of transport (Taxi, Busses and access to the suburban train station). In fall / winter 2010 will be functional as well the new suburban train station Malaga-Fuengirola at Malaga airport. The train will have a double track and thatfore will permit an improvement in the current frequency of trains to the major resorts between Malaga city and Fuengirola. Until then, the access to the train station is through the parking P1 situated opposite the terminal T2.
