Los Boliches Spain
The heritage of the fishing neighbourhood of Los Boliches is made up of the archaeological remains of the salting industry, belonging to the Phoenician period and later to Roman presence, which in turn is something that is alive and present in the current town, such as its Santisima Trinidad street and church.
Many families have gone out to sea for generations, and today they offer visitors and residents, in their typical restaurants and beach bars, the fried fish, baked fish or the traditional grilled sardines. The San Francisco street and the numerous alleys that lead to the beach are just an example of this gastronomic ambience.
Another example of this heritage is the Feria del Carmen. The night of the 16th of July sees the celebration of the world-famous marine procession, one of the most moving moments of the year.
The monumental wide beaches of Los Boliches are possibly the origin of the touristic discovery of Fuengirola, with its 8 kms of beaches. This neighbourhood is right in the middle of its long Promenade.
Those who have lived the openness of this neighbourhood can only have one wish, to have been born here. Thus, many Spaniards and foreigners have chosen this area as their new home.
