Malaga Information
The province of Málaga is situated between the provinces of Granada in the east, Cádiz in the west and Seville and Córdoba in the north. The mediterranean coastline of Málaga is known as the Costa del Sol.
Due to the neighborhood of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea predominates especially along the coast a subtropical mediterranean climate. The average annual temperature is between 12.5ºC (54.4ºF) and 19ºC (66.2ºF). In comparison with the Spanish average, the province of Malaga has experienced during the last a strong growth; there is a high percentage of foreign habitants, especially residents from north Europe and Great Britain.
The population is mainly concentrated in the city area of Málaga and along the coastline. In the interior the mayor areas are Antequera and Ronda.
All along the Costa del Sol does exist a complete infrastructure for tourism and for every taste and purse. Tourists can enjoy a wide variety of offers, from the typical sun and beach holiday, to active holidays (Water sports, horse riding, trekking etc.); The province provides as well hotels with excellent Spas for a Wellness and health Holiday. Moreover, the Costa the Sol is famous for its first-class Golf courts that due to the mild climate can be enjoyed throughout the year.
In the interior of the province we find some very beautiful Nature Parks (Parques Naturales de los Alcornocales, Grazalema, Montes de Málaga, Sierra de la Nieves, Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama).
The province of Málaga has a long history and is in so far very suited for cultural trips, with many monuments and remains from prehistoric, roman and Arabian epochs, museums and sights. The inhabitants of Málaga are famous for their hospitality and tolerance, being part of their 3000 years of history and the many cultures that have lived there.
