Comares information
Comares is a picturesque and small village situated over 725 mts above sea level on top of a cliff overlooking Periana Corridor and Axarquia. It is situated about 35 kms from Malaga city and 24 kms from Velez-Malaga.
There's a walking route in the village with ceramic footprints and signs to guide you round the village streets, most of which are too narrow to allow anything but the passage of people or the occasional mule.
Places of architectural interest include the remains of the fortress, Masmullar Hill, the Arabic cistern and Our Lady's Church, built in Mudejar style.
